Anxious about the new year ahead?

What does 2019 bring? A new job? A change in school - are you off to high school? Have you moved? Are you starting university, TAFE, other education? Or does 2019 look the same as 2018 - and that was stressful enough??!!


Stress and anxiety is not comparable. The stress and anxiety you experience looks and feels different to another's experience. The things that trigger you may be different to what triggers others. You may feel that you are the only one who feels like this. Let me assure you, you are NOT alone. Stress and anxiety is widespread.


Stress and anxiety does not only happen to adults, and it does not only happen to people who have to juggle lots of things.


When stress and anxiety are at their peek, remember to:

  • take deep breaths

  • take time out

  • maintain a positive attitude

  • accept that you can't control everything

  • look out for your triggers

Tips to help yourself:

  • limit alcohol, caffeine and junk food

  • eat well-balanced meals

  • sleep well - REST, REST, REST!!

  • exercise the stress out of you!

  • keep your goals in sight

  • talk to someone

  • learn to meditate

  • learn mindfulness
